Nothing has gone right for freshman Clay Morris: his brother had passed, his parents had separated, and his teachers had turned a blind eye as he had been beaten within an inch of his life on multiple occasions, so when a retiree at the dismal Pine Creek Community School uses technology to find a way for Clay to escape to a rival school across town, he figures it might just be worth a shot. He offers some very entertaining stories but no theories. Got a little mushy towards the end, but all and all, it was great.
